Why Abstract Expressionism

In the quiet corners of my mind, art becomes a sanctuary, a place where I can explore the depths of my emotions and find solace in the shared human experience. When I am immersed in the creative process, I find my truest self, a self that is deeply connected to the experience I want to record.

It is important to me for the viewer to strike an emotional connection to the work. One of the methods I use to create this experience is abstraction as I aim to capture the emotions and energy of a time and place rather than a re-iteration of the landscape. I believe that abstraction clears the path and allows the work to 'continue to evolve' when it is no longer in my hands.
